Living Life Through Figures and Mice

Juni Mice Figures

For my senior thesis, I created a set of 8 “Juni” blind boxes. As a lover of figures and collectibles, I made my own figure collection themed after and featuring the mice I love to illustrate. In 2020, during the pandemic, I sought to illustrate my perfect idea of comfort. That idea turned out to be a mouse house. Throughout the years, I have continued to illustrate mouse houses as both personal projects and commissions. It has been four years since my original mouse illustration and so much around me has changed. In 2021, I left home to attend the University of South Carolina, only to come right back after one semester. Comfort was all I wanted, so I returned to the place where it resided in abundance.

After two years of community college, I got my associates degree in graphic design. In August of 2023, I left my house once more for Winthrop University. The move was frightening, but I was surprised to find that this time, the comfort did not stay at my home, it came with me. It was time for my mice to come with me too. Each blind box includes a fully designed box, a handmade “Juni” figure, and a photo card that explains the meaning behind the figure. These figures have all been given accessories that relate to a piece of my experiences growing up. The eight themes of the figure are Classic, Sleepy, Cowboy, Director, Painter, Alien, Ballerina, and Butterfly.
